Time Zone: Waycross Conference Center is on EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME.

Driving Tips

The Conference Center is a little tricky to find. Try to arrive in daylight if possible. The road between 38 and Waycross becomes gravel. If you’re suddenly out of cell phone range, you’re almost there. Keep going. 🙂

Parking

When you arrive, park to the side of the main building. The registration table will be inside the main doors. If you’re staying at the Sleeping Wing or Main House, parking is down the hill. It’s easy to find, and we can give you directions when you arrive.

Gas/Food/Pharmacy

There are NO nearby gas stations, grocery stores, fast food restaurants, or pharmacies. If you need to purchase anything, please plan ahead.

Phone Service

Waycross is nestled among beautiful hills and forests that often create a dead spot for cell coverage. The center does have WiFi, although it is not as strong in the sleeping quarters.

Download a Google Map of the area for offline use before you reach WayCross. You’ll be glad you did.

Rooms in the Conference Center

The Conference Center includes 32 guest rooms that include scenic views and ample seating. Most retreat events will be held in this building, so it is a good choice for those who do not wish to or who cannot walk far. Rooms usually consist of a double bed and single bed with desk and small seating area. These rooms are hotel style with private bathrooms, suitcase racks, a desk, lamps, chairs, and a clothes bar.

Bed linens are provided in all Conference Center rooms.

Toiletries and towels ARE included in the Conference Center rooms.

Toilet tissue is provided.

There are a few electrical outlets in each room (no USB ports).

Rooms in the Sleeping Wing and Main House

The Main House Lodge and adjacent Sleeping Wing offer bunkhouse styles rooms in single to quadruple occupancy with shared and private bathrooms. Each room has a desk, bathroom, lamps, bunk style beds, alarm clock, and locker style cubbies for personal storage. The Main House Lodge offers a spacious comfortable living room with cozy couches and lovely pond views leading onto porches. There is also a mid-sized conference and meeting room with audio and video presentation. The Main House Lodge has one handicap accessible room with a private bath, and four rooms upstairs with three shared baths.

The two story Sleeping Wing is located adjacent to the Main House.

Bed linens are provided in all Sleeping Wing and Main House rooms.

Toiletries and towels are NOT provided in the sleeping wing or main house. You should plan to bring your own soap and shampoo if you sleep in these rooms. Due to an increase in fees, we are no longer suggesting you use the towel package from Waycross. Please bring towels from home, and we will have extras on hand if you forget.

Toilet tissue is provided.

There are a few electrical outlets in each room (no USB ports).

Weather

Link to local forecast on NOAA

  • It often drizzles or rains in the spring, so an umbrella is encouraged.
  • If it is sunny, the chapel where we hold our Sunday Devotional gets quite warm inside.
